Who’s behind the journal?

Hello!

I am the designer of Year Of Musical Growth, and I am also a professional violinist and educator with over 20 years of performing and teaching experience across Australia and abroad.

I’ve seen how structured, mindful practice transforms a musician’s growth—and how many students struggle to stay motivated, track progress, or feel confident in their practice, especially within the school system. I believe learning an instrument isn’t just about playing notes—it’s about learning how to practise effectively. Structuring practice, setting goals, and reflecting on progress is what turns effort into real growth.

That’s why I created the Year of Musical Growth Music Practice Journal: a clear, practical, and inspiring roadmap for students of all levels. It helps musicians set meaningful goals, plan and track their practice, reflect on progress, and stay organised with lesson notes, performance dates, and assessments.

Designed to make learning intentional, motivating, and rewarding, it gives students ownership of their practice, while providing teachers and parents a powerful tool to support skill-building, accountability, and self-directed learning.

The Year of Musical Growth Music Practice Journal isn’t just a notebook—it’s a companion for building confidence, consistency, and joy in every stage of a musician’s development, helping students master the art of practice.
